About

S3 is grounded in two decades of research on information systems, artificial intelligence and decision science — and in real intraoperative cases from robotic microsurgery.

Founder & CEO, 1only LLC

Dr. Wang designs and builds S3. Her research spans artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, systems science, management science, and game theory, across ~100 peer-reviewed publications — including the Journal of Economic Theory, Decision Support Systems, and IEEE Computer.

She holds a PhD in Management Science and Information Systems from the University of Texas at Austin, where she was a disciple of Dr. Andrew B. Whinston — the most published researcher in information systems (53,000+ citations, h-index 108), recipient of the AIS LEO Award for lifetime achievement, and a professor across economics, computer science and information systems. She has 22 years of doctoral education experience.

As a game theorist and mechanism designer, she was first in the world to co-introduce the “button” mechanism for ending a dynamic auction, published in the Journal of Economic Theory — laying the theoretical groundwork for the “golden buzzer” later popularised on America’s Got Talent. Her career has been spent designing computerised systems that maximise performance while accounting for how every actor reasons under uncertainty — which is the same question a surgical system asks.

Editorial service includes Associate Editor of the International Journal of Patient-Centered Healthcare (2019–2025), and Editorial Review Board membership for the Journal of Database Management (since 2004) and the Journal of Computer Information Systems (since 2024).

The clinical study

The clinical grounding comes from a microsurgery AI study at a U.S. academic medical center, where Dr. Wang is Co-Principal Investigator. The study analyzes real intraoperative cases from robotic microsurgery — anastomoses on vessels under a millimeter across.

That study holds an NSF NAIRR Pilot allocation of 20,000 NVIDIA H100 GPU-hours, the largest awarded in clinical medicine in the program’s history — verifiable in the public award listing.

The NAIRR allocation supports AI-assisted video analysis of anastomoses within that study. The broader system is developed independently.

Technical grounding

Energy, chips, infrastructure, models, applications — across the full stack, not only the top: building at the infrastructure, model and application layers, on GPUs, CUDA, cloud and Kubernetes. Four NVIDIA certifications — Professional in Agentic AI, Generative AI & LLMs, and Accelerated Data Science; Associate in AI Infrastructure & Operations — plus 35 course certificates spanning networking, LLMs, RAG agents, multimodal and MLOps.
